1 in 3 people with high blood pressure don't even know they have it.

It's often called the silent killer because there are no symptoms. In fact, nearly one-third of people with high blood pressure don't even know they have it. Untreated high blood pressure can lead to heart attack or stroke.

When your blood pressure was last checked, was the second number over 100? If so, or if you're unsure, you may have high blood pressure - a disease that affects 50 million Americans. And the second number, the diastolic blood pressure, is a known indicator of your risk for heart disease.

Right now there is a clinical research study underway at Troy Internal Medicine, P.C. that is evaluating an FDA-approved medication versus placebo for the treatment of high blood pressure.

You may qualify for this study if you:
  • Are 21 years of age or older
  • Have high blood pressure
Participants will receive a phycial exam plus frequent study-related medical evaluations, at no cost. Compensation for time and travel may be provided.
