GARDASIL (HPV) & ZOSTAVAX (SHINGLES) VACCINES

We are now able to give two new vaccines. The Gardasil vaccine is for the protection of HPV (the virus that causes cervical cancer and genital warts). It is approved for females age 9 to 26 years old. This may be given to women previously infected with HPV. It is a series of 3 vaccines (0, 2 months and 6 months). The cost is $153.00 per vaccine (i.e. entire series is $459.00).

The Zostavax (for Shingles) is a live vaccine approved for adults 60 years and older. That cost is $193.00. It is not for treatment of active Shingles or post-herpetic neuralgia. Since it is a live virus you may get a mild case of Shingles.
